The RSPCA are currently evacuating the Ipswich facilities and approximately 100 animals will be relocated to the showgrounds. The Dakabin centre is now inaccessible and a number of animals were evacuated for safety reasons yesterday.

Sadly the RSPCA has been receiving calls from people who have ignored the warnings and not moved their animals to higher ground.

"One lady actually abused one of our ambulance officers because we weren't able to get an ambulance officers because we weren't able to get an ambulance to rescue her horse."

"When asked why she hadn't moved it she said she didn't know it would get this bad. It's very frustrating. People must plan for the worst and hope for the best." said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty.
